If the check is dated from the 1930's or 1940's, it is likely made out to his grand nephew. Wilbur Wright died in 1912, so your check would need to pre-date 1912. If it pre-dates 1912, would be odd that Orville would write a check to his brother Wilbur. If you send a pdf of the check, front and back, I can confirm it for you. mbyanney@bseltd.biz
Take care,
MattMatt Yanneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18198849075789245604noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1907482527270105793.post-45188193820900551572020-08-10T14:26:21.346-04:002020-08-10T14:26:21.346-04:00I have a check signed by Orville Wright made out t...I have a check signed by Orville Wright made out to Wilbur Wright. It is endorsed by “Wilbur Wright” but wondering if it is authentic. Looking at some exemplars, it looks different. But why would Orville Wright a check to Wilbur and then endorse it himself if not Wilbur?

Dave David Heberthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03960471871660233362noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1907482527270105793.post-66593836602920695872020-03-22T14:06:49.774-04:002020-03-22T14:06:49.774-04:00Yes, will add a paragraph. Very easy to identify, and I can provide some visuals if that is what you are asking.
By the way, I've seen modern printed Orville Wright checks offered for sale, but they are identified as such. Sometimes framed for $20 or so. I could see some of these eventually being offered as genuine items, but would think they're easily identifiable under magnification, indicating printers ink in lieu of genuine signature.
